We stirred 1/2 cup sugar into 2 cups water, brought it to a boil, stirring for approximately 5 minutes. We let it cool, and poured into the hummingbird feeder.

Isn't that too strong? My bird shop says 1 part sugar, 4 parts hot water.
ReplyDeleteThank you for asking. We've been using this recipe for years and we have beautiful hummingbirds visiting on a regular basis. But we definitely don't want to take any chances, so we'll do some research. And thank you for watching!
ReplyDeleteSo, Lisa just called and told me I had used the correct recipe in the video, but I wrote the wrong amount down. (Senior moment, I guess :) I just corrected that here in the blog. We actually do use 1 part sugar to 4 parts hot water. Thank you again!
